About the Kent and East Sussex Osteopaths Regional Group
Hello and Welcome to Kent and East Sussex Osteopathic Regional Group.
We are a group of over 250 Osteopaths spread across the counties of Kent and East Sussex. We meet regularly to engage in CPD activities, network and provide support.
We organise various meetings a year, an annual First Aid course, and have developed relationships with organisations who provide exclusive CPD events for our members.
Our group started in 2012 and has steadily grown since then. It was established to meet the needs of Osteopaths in Kent and East Sussex since there had not been a consistent regional group representing osteopaths in this area for some time.
The initial response to requests for members proved that a group of this nature was needed and the group has developed into a large professional network enabling members to cross-refer, advertise to each other, and get support where needed.
We invite a wide range of lecturers to our meetings and have built relationships with local consultants as a result. We try to spread our meetings equally between Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone to try to catch as many people from across the county as possible. We also offer online webinars for CPD and online case based discussions to allow members to link up and fulfil this objective activity.
Our in person meetings include refreshments and plenty of networking time and CPD certificates are provided. Many of our members comment that we provide local and low-cost CPD that is easy to get to and at a time that suits them.
Our website offers a Members Directory which provides a free service to members and the public wishing to find a local osteopath. Our Members only area offers a video library of past lectures and this offers an invaluable CPD resource to members, plus a noticeboard to allow for advertising of practice needs, and an easy online booking service for our events. We keep in touch with members via an e group and Whats App group.
We are always open to feedback and will aim to tailor the group activities to the needs of the members.
We are also always looking for lecturers, so please get in touch if you are one or know of one that you feel would be great for the group to hear.
We have dedicated a section of our website to the CPD scheme as a resource for members. We hope to encourage development of ‘learning communities’ within the profession for CPD and exchange of opportunities.
We do encourage final year student involvement and provide free membership plus reduced rates for attendance at our meetings. If you are a student then please fill in our contact form and we will be happy to speak to you.
KESO is run by an active committee of 4 members who give up their time voluntarily. Please do get in touch with any ideas of activities that you feel would be beneficial. We are always looking for new members. Membership costs just £10 then meetings are priced individually. There is no obligation to attend all meetings.
We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon. If you have any queries please contact us through this site and we will be happy to answer your questions as best we can or refer you on as needed.
